Oh, My Beautiful IE!

I used to hate the IE. Well, dislike more. "Urban sprawl" is all I thought. But lately, I have been seeing the great beauty in the Inland Empire, which is where my work takes me. Someday I would like to take artistic pictures of the IE--it has a lot of history and beauty. But for now, I am just focusing on what I can snap quickly with my iphone while looking at houses. It is amazing what you can find in these homes, mostly very strange things... but sometimes awesome as well.

Here is what I have found so far:

Today I was in Riverside and I met this friendly horse. His nose was really soft. I really want a horse again.I also met this dead rooster. Poor guy. I have no clue why he died. He was in the backyard.

I am assuming this had to do with the presence of a chicken coop in the backyard. Hopefully the writer has learned that it is "an egg" by now.

This is one of my favorites. Is that a sink/stove combo!? From a home in Bloomington.

I took this in a home... I think it was in Ontario or Fontana. I thought it was kinda pretty. "The earth taking back what belongs to it." The red thing is a laundry duct.

I found this in the same home. Let's assume it is the peaceful and prosperous meaning. :?

Sometimes I find weird architectural phenomena--such as this double closet. This was a closet shared by two bedrooms (with two doors).

Someone was proud of their heritage! Taken in a garage in northern San Bernardino.

This has to be my favorite. I was greeted with these little guys when I walked into this house in Rialto. Caused by a leaking shower on the other side.

You may think there is nothing wrong with this but look again. The round thing is a spa, of course. But what is the other part? I don't have a clue either--it wasn't even long enough to swim in like those pools with rushing water. So yeah, I still don't know!

A lot of the time people write things on walls. This was the longest I had ever seen, from a house in Upland. Sadly the house was in a sorry state of disrepair. I wonder why people don't take care of something so important.
It reads: "Dear God, I love this house more than anything in the world why us? why? I've been here for the most part of my life this doesn't seem real I need to finish growing up here i'm not ready nobody is so why are you doing this to us I know you can do anything so someway some how we will live here in OUR HOME. this isn't real so please all I ask for christmas is my home back I love this house I can't live anywhere else anywhere else is not home so God please HELP me and my family this is all we want I <3 U and I always will Amen!"

I often see "stripped" houses. This was in Rialto. It makes the homes look really small and empty.

A lot of homes convert garages or section off rooms to make more rooms. Sometimes they are stupid about it. Here is an example.

More to come!

The sink/stove just made my day! And then the letter to God made me sad... But it's okay because the really bad wall job made me feel better. :)

My parents' house has one of those double closet things. It's kinda cool, but kinda weird...

Hi! I am glad it made you laugh, I thought it was the oddest thing! The truth is they actually sell units like that (I'm gonna post a pick) and they are sort of expensive!

Yeah, the letter was sad. What makes me really sad is when I come into a home that was really nicely taken care of and you can just tell that something went wrong and they lost it...
